You can ask for your account and its data to be deleted from here, in one of two ways: from inside the app if you can sign in, or by writing to us if you cannot.

The fast way: from inside the app

Deletion is in the app itself, and it happens there and then without waiting for anybody.

Open PROFILE, then SETTINGS, then ACCOUNT & SECURITY, then DELETE MY ACCOUNT. The app first shows you what goes with the account, then asks for a final confirmation. After that there is no undo.

If your account is suspended the same button is on the suspension screen, so a suspended account can still delete itself.

If you want to step away rather than be deleted, the app can pause your account instead: it takes you out of search and off the boards, and it can be undone.

If you cannot sign in

Write to us from the email address registered on the account and ask for it to be deleted:

A message to that address is read by a person. There is nothing automated behind it, so this is the slower of the two routes, and the one above is the one to use if you can still sign in.

Before anything is deleted we have to be satisfied that the request came from the person who owns the account, which is why we ask you to write from the address registered on it. Once we are, the account is deleted by hand, and deletion then does what is described below. If we cannot be satisfied, we delete nothing. One unverified request means deleting somebody else’s account.

This page asks for no password, collects nothing, and has no form on it that sends anything anywhere.

What deletion does

What follows is the privacy policy’s own text, read from its source rather than copied out of it, so the two pages cannot say different things. Photos and files attached to support messages go with them. An in-app deletion removes them from storage in the same step, and a deletion done by hand records their paths and removes them in a step that follows, so they may not go at the same moment the account does.

You can delete your account from the Account and Security screen inside the app. Deletion is permanent.

What is deleted: upcoming matches you host are cancelled and then removed with their seats, requests, results and messages. Seats you hold in other people’s matches are opened again if the match is still ahead, and locked and labelled as a deleted account if the match has been played. Your requests, invitations and direct threads go, and so do your profile, your photo, your date of birth, your phone number, your recorded email address, your follow and block lists, your notifications, the notification registration of every phone you signed in on, your support tickets and their messages, your gear listings, the photos and voice notes you sent in private conversations, and any staff role.

What is deleted from a conversation: every message you wrote loses its words and loses your name. What is left where each one stood is a marker saying a message was deleted, and nothing else. Nothing you wrote survives and nothing naming you survives. The marker is there so that the conversation the other people are still in does not become a set of replies to nothing.

What stays without your name: records that belong to other people keep their shape and your name is emptied out of them. Who decided a request, who entered or edited a result, and who was a co-admin on somebody else’s match.

What stays: reports. A report you filed keeps its content and loses its link to you. A report filed about you stays as it is. A report is a record of something that happened, and a record its subject can erase is not one.
